The Sacrament of Baptism
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.”
Bringing forth new life into our world is one of the greatest privileges. It brings with it many joys and blessings as well as responsibilities. Parents love for their child is a reflection of God’s love for us. In the sacrament of Baptism, the parents presentation of their child for Baptism is the duty inherent upon every disciple of Jesus to proclaim the arrival of God’s Kingdom among us. Through this Sacrament, your child will become a part of God’s family, the Church.
